Weekly Challenge

Starting today and for the next two weeks, no more single-use water bottles or single-use cups in lecture and lab.  Be responsible, buy a reusable water bottle, and plan ahead.  It is not as hard as you think.  But, to pull it off, you must think ahead.  Trust me, it is easy and you won’t die of thirst, and hey, it's only for two weeks!!!!!!

Weekly Quote

Humans are not exempt from the laws and rules that apply to the rest of life, but we think we are.

A part of nature, not apart from nature.

No natural ecosystem depends on us, but we depend on the natural ecosystems for life.

The world is not a life support system designed solely to meet the needs of humans.

When will we learn to live with nature rather than off of it?

“I care about our environment because it is a matter of survival, nature is very patient, but if we test her limits she could easily tire of us.  All too often we get caught up in the day to day grind and forget about the big picture.  Step back for a second, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we grow come from the Earth.  We are all connected to our planet; we have got to keep it healthy to keep us healthy”. Jan Arden

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. - Edward Everett Hale

We don't inherit the Earth from our parents, we borrow from our children.

The future is our choice, not our fate.

“That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.” Walt Whitman

What will your verse be?
